Peyton recently progressed to the Biathlon Provincials with her Cadet Corps team, and is hoping to move on to the Nationals for the second year in a row. Last year, Peyton brought home a silver medal for competing in the male patrol race, running as a group no more than 5 metres apart. This year, Peyton placed first with junior female and junior female team where she used some of her SOAR strategies and techniques to bring home the gold.
This year Lucus was successful in obtaining a position on the Flight Club Academy Football Team. He will participate in 3 regionals tournaments throughout the USA where Scouts from all across America from leading div 1a and div 1aa schools will be in attendance. With this opportunity he will be coached by Jared Manchulenko drafted by the Calgary Stampeders and Jerome Messam, current Calgary Stampeder, and back to back Grey Cup runner-up and two-time CFL Outstanding Canadian. Mom Becky says, “He completed a grueling 3 hour workout/tryout and he would have never had the confidence, drive or physical ability to accomplish this without the SOAR program.”
Georgina Pickard is an accomplished sprinter. In her first year in SOAR, she set a new CWOSSA record of 25.81s in the 200m to secure 1st place; she later added another gold medal by winning the 100m race. Her success carried over and she ended the season with a silver and bronze medal in the 100m and 200m at the OFSAA Track and Field championships in Belleville. Georgina continues to develop her sprinting skills and is looking forward to another great track season.
